Chef de Cuisine
Morgan Ritchie is an award-winning Chef de Cuisine at Bayberry in Islip, New York. A native of Vermont, Morgan has over two decades of experience in the kitchen. He has honed his skills in various prestigious establishments, including The Port Jefferson Country Club in Port Jefferson, New York, where he served in positions ranging from Executive Chef to Head Chef and Kitchen Manager. He has managed kitchens, designed menus, and orchestrated large-scale catering events. In addition, Morgan practiced under award-winning French Chef Jean-Patrick Matecat as well as alongside the world-renowned chef and Food Network host, Alton Brown.
Morgan's culinary journey began at a young age, working as a dishwasher at age 13 and growing up in the restaurants where his mother worked, being introduced to different dishes including escargot, wild game, foie gras and truffles, as well as savoring his grandmother’s pot roast and lobster at home. Inspired by the flavors of French and Italian cuisines along with fine dining, he credits his culinary success to his extensive hands-on experience and mentorship from accomplished chefs. Morgan's ultimate goal as Chef de Cuisine is to create dishes that leave a lasting impression on diners and with a desire to come back for more.
